Since political ideology is viewed on a continuum.
Allow me to verbally illustrate ‘Voiceless’ an upcoming section that will be exhibited at the Dallas 2012 Art Expo. Long shot but my verse will seek a canvas and enter itself with hopes of being displayed. Photograph below has managed to congregate my theme.
Envision a symphony instead. . .
Communism
The knuckled taut
Unshaven masks
Forging cheer for the trembling throats
Who’s mouths once dripped
Who’s mouths once roared
InvadingĀ nostrils afraid to dilate
Cornered seeking parlor behind the sun
Where truth becomes power and the mighty wounds kneel
Prayer becomes the lighted flesh
Birthing sound
Provoking the human in a forever
Forever where a flags function is to simply orchestrate

Loved the image you chose to accompany your thoughts
Thank you
Mari… my lady, the rest of the contestants should spend some sleepless nights in worry, once they see your contribution… this is a very powerful poem, and you are right about the picture being the perfect visual partner. Since you suggest a symphony, I thought about it, and think that an appropriate piece would the Mars movement from Holst’s series on the Planets, so I listened to that in my head while I read the poem…. it was good sauce for such a tasty dish of rich, verbal paella…..
I was very moved by this line.. “Where truth becomes power and the mighty wounds kneel”… deeply human and lyrical.
I’m curious about the sculpture… do you know it’s title, and who created it? While it looks as if you could have made it, (I have seen no apparent limit to your artistic expressions thus far), I was not aware that you sculpted. But if it is yours, all I can say at first look is WOW! Even if it isn’t yours, it fits perfectly with your poetic outburst…. well done, beginning to end!….Best of luck in the showing….. and thanks once more, for sharing your SELF with the rest of us…..
You did precisely what I would’ve done. . Paella indeed.
Tried sculpting in High School and failed miserably with impatience.
Ned, the irony of this generous piece of art is that it resides in Cuba. It’s a non-working fire hydrogen saluting a constant reminder.
Now I have a place for my thoughts and imagery. Thrilled it inspires, because that is exactly what it worths.
Only looking for the world to embrace Cuba and the stricking potential they have to offer. A national movement not just foreign. Peace, thank you : )
You are welcome…. every word I wrote is gospel truth…
I’m not happy that your country is in thrall to despots, or happy that this has made your life very different than it should have been. But I am very happy that you escaped from that, and have the opportunity to use and share your art to both heal your pain and shout out your hope for change…. I hope to never see an end to what you may create from that urge…. Truth….
Thanks for telling me about the sculpture; it’s an amazing piece. I can empathize about that field of art; I’m a terrible sculptor, unless it’s an ashtray….
Take care, amiga…..
You kmow…this reminds me of the japanes film…tetsuo…a melding of human and machine…a loss of humanity…I cannot pick a specific part that i like. It works together as a whole….This along with “even”…my favorites…
“Forever where a flags function is to simply orchestrate” Wonderful last line. Good luck with your entry!

Profound and emotional. Thank you. From Dallas.
Will be visiting in Addison next week. Promised myself to stay mighty far from the Galleria : )
Thank you..
The Addison area has a bunch of great restaurants! Hope you get to visit some. Very busy at night… a lot of people with a lot of money will drive by in their very expensive cars… but the food is great.
Except the Eden Cafe : )
