Since you left me

A bird can astonish itself

Like a first night’s bride

These words must exist

In this verse, a self portrait of God

~

The death of my daughter

Holds my father’s hand

Spreading her face over his chest

~

Friends, night hostages me

Sadness has copyrights

Mellowly negotiating

The age, the infancies

That don’t quite circle

Since you left me
